#StrengthsFinder #ideation at Radin Mas School #Singapore
Was doing a full day workshop for 80 teachers and found this interesting board that Victor Seet pointed out to me which says: We make a mark our with ideas
That’s sounds like a mantra for all those people gifted with ideation. Ideas comes naturally and sometimes in waterfalls of rainbow creativity. We thrive, drinking on the waters of freedom and playing outside the box of normality
A blank canvas is almost shouting out to us to pen down our ideas and sketch out the impossible. When I first did StrengthsFinder some 10 years ago, the ideation talent theme helped me to understand my compulsion toward poetry, plays, song writing and even inventions. Burning through moleskines with a gasoline-filled fountain pen. Sparking many random thoughts on almost everything that flies into my mind
Needless to say, ideation is my number 1 StrengthsFinder talent theme
Best described by the StrengthsFinder definition of ideation: You are fascinated by ideas. What is an idea? An idea is a concept, the best explanation of the most events. You are delighted when you discover beneath the complex surface an elegantly simple concept to explain why things are the way they are. An idea is a connection. Yours is the kind of mind that is always looking for connections, and so you are intrigued when seemingly disparate phenomena can be linked by an obscure connection. An idea is a new perspective on familiar challenges. You revel in taking the world we all know and turning it around so we can view it from a strange but strangely enlightening angle. You love all these ideas because they are profound, because they are novel, because they are clarifying, because they are contrary, because they are bizarre.
