Flew to #Shanghai #China from #Singapore for a #StrengthsFinder #leadership #Workshop done in #Chinese by Victor Seet @Victor_seet

During the 2 days, we were able to impact the CEO of Remy Cointreau (Greater China) and his management team. It was a privilege to have 2 full days talking about how to apply StrengthsFinder with this dynamic team

Personally, the differences between doing a StrengthsFinder Workshop in English and in Chinese is the analogies and pictorial examples that the Chinese cultural is so familiar with. In China, they often use idioms to try to explain a concept. So when it comes to discussing StrengthsFinder concept like talent, strengths, basement & balcony, it was often peppered with idioms and analogies

And besides the StrengthsFinder Workshop, we definitely enjoyed the food! We are grateful to be treated by Remy Cointreau with great lunches during the 2 days for StrengthsFinder leadership Workshop

Looking forward to going back to Shanghai China to do more StrengthsFinder Workshops and coaching and impacting a small percentage of the 1 billion Chinese people

#Singapore #StrengthsFinder Summit gratitude note from Chau of Vietnam

I got a note from a delegate from our recent ASEAN Strengths Education Summit

Dear Mr Victor and Mr Jason, I appreciate what you did for the younger generation and it is making a deep impact to all of us. What you started will continue on and nurture our strengths in order to succeed in life

Reading this note reminds me of StrengthsFinder theme #developer. Better explained by the definition

People exceptionally talented in the Developer StrengthsFinder theme recognize and cultivate the potential in others. They spot the signs of each small improvement and derive satisfaction from evidence of progress

You see the potential in others. Very often, in fact, potential is all you see. In your view no individual is fully formed. On the contrary, each individual is a work in progress, alive with possibilities. And you are drawn toward people for this very reason. When you interact with others, your goal is to help them experience success. You look for ways to challenge them

You devise interesting experiences that can stretch them and help them grow. And all the while you are on the lookout for the signs of growth — a new behavior learned or modified, a slight improvement in a skill, a glimpse of excellence or of “flow” where previously there were only halting steps. For you these small increments — invisible to some — are clear signs of potential being realized. These signs of growth in others are your fuel. They bring you strength and satisfaction

In #Singapore & the world, we all have been a #StrengthsFinder #maximizer at one point in time

I think most of us have been through this situation; with very little resources, you need to accomplish the impossible

Maximizer is not just about bringing something from good to great, it’s also about making the best of the limited resources that you might have

Your ability to creatively use what is given to your advantage. To make a seemingly hopeless situation into something that is closer to great

As the StrengthsFinder definition of Maximizer puts it - You don’t want to spend your life bemoaning what you lack. Rather, you want to capitalize on the gifts with which you are blessed. It’s more fun. It’s more productive. And, counterintuitively, it is more demanding

#StrengthsFinder #ideation at Radin Mas School #Singapore

Was doing a full day workshop for 80 teachers and found this interesting board that Victor Seet pointed out to me which says: We make a mark our with ideas

That’s sounds like a mantra for all those people gifted with ideation. Ideas comes naturally and sometimes in waterfalls of rainbow creativity. We thrive, drinking on the waters of freedom and playing outside the box of normality

A blank canvas is almost shouting out to us to pen down our ideas and sketch out the impossible. When I first did StrengthsFinder some 10 years ago, the ideation talent theme helped me to understand my compulsion toward poetry, plays, song writing and even inventions. Burning through moleskines with a gasoline-filled fountain pen. Sparking many random thoughts on almost everything that flies into my mind

Needless to say, ideation is my number 1 StrengthsFinder talent theme

Best described by the StrengthsFinder definition of ideation: You are fascinated by ideas. What is an idea? An idea is a concept, the best explanation of the most events. You are delighted when you discover beneath the complex surface an elegantly simple concept to explain why things are the way they are. An idea is a connection. Yours is the kind of mind that is always looking for connections, and so you are intrigued when seemingly disparate phenomena can be linked by an obscure connection. An idea is a new perspective on familiar challenges. You revel in taking the world we all know and turning it around so we can view it from a strange but strangely enlightening angle. You love all these ideas because they are profound, because they are novel, because they are clarifying, because they are contrary, because they are bizarre.

#StrengthsFinder Class in NUS Business School (#Singapore)

Sitting on the NUS Business School’s expert panel for StrengthsFinder is indeed an honour. I get to interact with highly motivated and successful individuals from Asia that go through their school doors for deeper & greater business insight

In this class, I shared about a topic that I am extremely passionate about - StrengthsFinder. Unpacking their top 5 talents themes and sharing how they could make it into a strength

Business is a lot about understanding how your team works best, how they can be most productive and contribute in their most unique way. When individuals in the team can confidently say that they use their strengths every day at work, you’re setting them up for both team and organisation success

My favourite testimonial is from an ASEAN government official - Jason is very good. I learned so much from him. I would like to recommend him to EVERYBODY

So… if you are part of his ‘Everybody’, feel free to contact me and I’ll be happy to help you unleash your talents into strengths
